A sheet of square paper,
A half sheet of paper,
An extra small paper,
scissors,
tape,
a pencil,
strings,
a bottle lid and a ruler.
Step 1:
First you get your pencil and a half sheet of paper. Then you put the pencil on the paper then roll it but not too tight so the pencil has enough space to wiggle through, then once you’ve rolled it, you seal the edge of the paper with tape then you take out the pencil.
Step 2:
Next, what you do is get your paper that you made and cut about 2 inches wide then you have two rolled papers. After that you get your bottle lid and your extra paper to make two circles, then cut them out. Once you’ve done that, you get your pencil and you poke it through your circle, but before you do that you might want to get something soft to poke through, like Blu-tack.
Step 3:
After that you put your circle through your pencil then after that get a string and tie it on your pencil and tape it then you do the same thing with the other circle and poke it in the same pencil.
Step 4:
What you do next is get the sheet of square paper and fold it on each corners and that will give you a cross inside then mark your pencil in the center and after that use a ruler to draw a line that is about two thirds of the way in from the end corner and your gonna do the same thing on each corner. Now you want to cut along these lines that you’ve just made and they are going to be your wind turbine blades.
Step 5:
When you do that, get your pencil to poke through your square paper but this time take it off and thread it on the back of the pencil instead once you’ve have a hole that's big enough to fit.
Now the back of the turbine blade needs to sit at the back of your small guide and you tape it with a little bit of tape.
Step 6:
What you do next is put a bit of tape at the back of the corner then tape it down in the center but don’t tape it on the pencil then do the same thing with the other corners then you'll have your wind turbine but not quite finish. So you get your ruler and pencil to stick it onto your bench with sticky tape, once you do that slide the two rolled papers in the pencil and space them out then tape it down with the ruler.
Final Step:
After that, get a hair dryer and use it to blow the turbine blade.
If it works Well done. If not, well you’ve tried.
I did this activity because I wanted to learn how winds work and it worked pretty well. What I liked about it was making the turbine blade which was really cool. What I will do differently in my future work that I will use those tools to improve my writing in the future.
