Athletics day

                                                                  Athletics day

On Friday last week it was Athletics day and it turned out to be the best day ever because every class in St Patrick's took part. The school houses are Kauri, Rata. Rimu and Totora. I am in kauri and my friends were in the other houses except for one. His name is Alex. He was in my team and he is so fast I can't even catch my breath behind  him.

All the houses were sitting on the mats that were on the grass. After the 6,7,8,9 year olds had their turn, it was the ten years old turn and I am ten. It was the ten year old girls first and so my twin sister nearly went off without hearing the gun. Once the gun shot, all girls ran as fast as they could go. My sister came fourth.

Next it was the ten year old boys turn. I was shocked because I hadn't even practiced. When the Gun shot in the sky I ran as fast as I could go, and I also came fourth. In  the last 2 races my sister and I kept on coming fourth but on the third race my sister and I came in third place. I was so happy because I wanted to be in 1,2 or 3 place.

Then the year 5,6,7 and 8 were doing an activity. It was shotput. Totora won then kauri came second and Rimu came third and Rata came fourth.

When the bell rang, it was lunchtime. Then we had a little play time. After that the bell rang and it was tug-a-war time. Each house chose 8 people and I was one of them. We were the first team, and we were versing Rata. The principal (Mrs Bullot) blew the whistle and then both teams pulled as hard as they could. We beat Rata, then it was Rimu shouted with excitement. Then it was Rimu vs Totora. Rimu looked worried and Totara looked like they had practiced. Totara won and Rimu lost, so it was now Totara against Kauri. Gulp!

Totara got the rope and so did Kauri. Once the whistle blew, we pulled but we lost. Finally, at the end of the day, Ms Bullot announced teh winning house. It was Rimu. We were all very tired when we went home but we had a great time.

My whakapapa Journey

My Whakapapa Story I live in New Zealand but I am Samoan. In my picture I am going to share my whakapapa whanau. The koru shows all the people who have passed away. They are my Grandpa, Grandma, and also my cousin. The Yellow koru stands for my ancestors who I will never see and never meet. The top middle koru stands for my family, and the red   is my older sister who cleans up the house and goes to the gym. Two of the purple koru are my Mum and Dad. My Mum and Dad are the BOSS of me, my two sisters and my little brother. The green koru is my little brother and he likes to play with me. When our cousins visit they call him CUTE. The blue koru are my sister and I because we are twins. We both enjoy sports. I play Rugby and she plays netball. The green koru inside the frame are my godmother and godfather. The blue koru stands for my nephew and nieces. The bottom middle koru stands for my uncle that I’ve never met before.

The Best Day of my Life

In 2018 it was my brother's birthday and I was so excited that I ate two breakfasts. There was so much happening that day and so much to look forward to. I went to my room to get ready for a rugby tournament. My family and I were all going to the rugby tournament.

When I was playing it was a bit rough, but I had lots of fun. I played really hard and we won the tournament. I felt really pleased. When the rugby tournament was over my family and I went home and I took a shower.

Next my family and I went to the cinema, and we watched Incredible Two. It was really scary and my brother was holding my hand. I didn’t mind because it was his birthday!

When we finally got home that evening we all decided we had had a really great family day. I was really tired but so happy that my day had turned out so exciting.
